![]() ![]() I noticed two things: when the matchmaker wasn’t forced to put say Diamonds vs. OW1 launch balance was a joke compared to OW2 already. I think since it’s a revision it’s going to be smoother than most people think, but it won’t be “flawless”. Some will always be good too, that is always Overwatch from day 1. Sure some picks are bad, they will always be bad. It’s also why we only get three new characters on this phase, with presumably the other new characters in short order (one tank in December, another Support IIRC in March). No question balance issues will be there, the game was made for 6 v 6 and everything is being retuned in short order for a PVP release early which was no the original plan. I think that they will eventually make this game great I just feel like it will for sure have a rocky start. OW2 was different from that the two new characters for sure felt like they were oppressive on their own and many characters felt like they just were a loss from the pick screen, like Doomfist or Bastion. For the reason that in my opinion from my play time and who I go against their one character that is OP it is mostly the team comp and how well they play together that can make a character push past and become hard to deal with. But as someone that has played other FPS Hero/Operator-based games, I feel like OW1 is actually one of the most well-balanced games I’ve played. Now I know it is a Live Service game and sadly what has come to be expected in the Live Service scene. ![]() But at the same time, I’m worried because I feel like it will be a mess at the start. I’m excited because of a couple of new heroes and the few new maps. I am excited but also worried about the release of OW2 coming soon.
